How to use stickers in Apple Messages and iMessage

Prepare a compatible static Stizone pack on an iPhone or iPad, then find Stizone in Messages and send the right reaction in a conversation.

Compatibility firstThis feature applies to compatible Apple devices. Stizone's Apple Messages flow supports compatible static packs; animated Stizone stickers are not supported in Messages yet.

1. Prepare a static pack in Stizone

  1. On your compatible iPhone or iPad, open Stizone.
  2. Tap the center + button and choose Photo → Sticker, DIY Sticker, or Draw Sticker.
  3. Create a clear sticker with a readable subject and clean edges.
  4. Save it to a static My Stickers pack. Do not mix static and animated stickers.
  5. Open the pack and use the Apple Messages action to prepare it.

If Stizone reports that a sticker is too large or cannot be prepared, simplify the image, save it again, and retry. A visually complex image can remain large even after resizing.

2. Find Stizone in Messages

Apple's Messages interface varies slightly by iOS or iPadOS version. In a conversation, tap the + or apps button beside the text field, open Stickers or the app drawer, and choose the Stizone icon. If the icon is hidden, use the edit or manage option in the Messages apps list to enable it.

Apple's own guide describes opening a conversation, tapping the Add button, choosing Stickers, then selecting a sticker source. See Apple's Send stickers in Messages guide for the current system interface.

3. Send or place a sticker

  • Tap a sticker to send it as a message.
  • Where supported by Messages, touch and drag a sticker onto a message bubble to place it as a reaction-style decoration.
  • Test the sticker against both light and dark conversation backgrounds.

If text is hard to read, return to Stizone, enlarge it, increase contrast, save the sticker again, and prepare the pack again.

4. Keep the pack easy to use

Order reactions by frequency: greetings and everyday answers first, special-event stickers later. Keep one visual style per pack so the right reaction is easy to spot in the compact Messages picker.

My Stickers remains local and private. Preparing a pack for Messages does not publish it to Explore. Premium users may separately choose private Cloud Backup for supported content.

5. Troubleshooting

  • Stizone is missing in Messages: reopen Stizone, prepare the pack again, then check the Messages app list.
  • The action is unavailable: confirm you are using a compatible iPhone or iPad and a current Stizone build.
  • An animated pack is rejected: create or choose a static pack. Animated Messages export is not supported.
  • A sticker is too large: reduce visual complexity or re-save the sticker, then prepare the pack again.
  • Messages cannot reach the pack: restart Stizone and Messages, then retry before contacting support.
